Prayer
What it is and things to consider as we approach Almighty God
Sample Prayer Pattern
Prayer is our spiritual communication with God. Prayer happens through our words, our silence, our actions, our thoughts, our worship, our giving and more. Think of the many ways that you communicate with others, both those that you like and those that you are not as fond of....
As we spend time with God, unhurried and unrushed, just remember one of the best ways to enter into His presence is outlined in the Word. A study of the pattern outlined by God in the design of His Temple, gives us clear insight on what we should consider and do as we approach the Great God of All Creation.
The Word instructs us that step by step, we must enter His Gates, with thanksgiving. That is the first key to move into that place where He dwells: Thanksgiving. Think about the things He has done specifically for you and your loved ones. Take nothing for granted, for even the breathe of life was a gift from The Father.
Once inside the gates, we need to move in deeper, by entering His Courts. The key to His Courts is Praise. Praise is looking back at the many things He has done and acknowledging that these wonders and supernatural interventions were all His Work and not the work of man, chance or happenstance. True praise, will give us access to His Courts.
In this process, you will see that our focus shifts from ourselves, and even our circumstances, to the pure awe of our Triune God. Each piece of the temple has a meaning, from the colors used, to the furnishings, the lighting, the design and the materials used. Each step moves us closer to Him.
Internally, all humanity desires to enter into His manifested Presence. As we look to the Holy of Holies... where true worship (His Presence), takes place. Instead of loud clamoring, here we often find ourselves quiet as His Glory overshadows everything. As His Presence surrounds us, we can basking there, we can soak up the balm of Gilead that He holds. We can allow our spirit to communicate in wonder with His Divine Spirit as we come fully emerge in Love.
We must be mindful of Who He really is. He is a King… in fact, the King of all kings, and Lord of all. So, let’s go in…and Worship.
